Wooden Wick Candle Care

Lighting Technique: The best way to get optimal lighting is to tilt the candle slightly to the side and press the flame onto the base of the wick until it lights along the entire length of the wick.

First use: the first time you light your new candle, it is normal for it to take up to 5-10 seconds for the flame to start. Be sure to let it burn until the wax has melted evenly over the entire surface, about 3-4 hours. This way, on subsequent uses, the wax will burn evenly.

*If this is not the case, and at the end of the first lighting session there is still wax on the walls, don't worry, coconut wax requires very little heat to melt and the rest will catch up on subsequent lighting sessions.

Always trim or pinch the wick to about 3/16" (5 mm) before each lighting, and remove the burnt wood (if the wood wick is too long, your candle will have difficulty staying lit)

Never leave your candle burning for more than 4 hours at a time. This could result in a too high flame, soot on the container, high container temperature and/or smoke.

If at any time the flame becomes too high, extinguish the candle and allow the wax to solidify before cutting the wick and relighting.

Stop burning when 1/2" (1 cm) or less of wax remains at the bottom of the container.

Never leave a burning candle unattended or within the reach of children or pets.

Always burn your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Keep away from flammable objects and drafts.

Reuse your containers. (See the section ''I reuse my jars'')
